The following post contains affiliate links. Since my last video on how to cover a cake in fondant, I have changed my methods a lot. I used to use buttercream only, the ProFroster didn’t exist (I don’t ever want to go back to a time where the ProFroster didn’t exist), and I was using hard smoothers. Most importantly, my cakes weren’t great. They were fine but they weren’t 100% even, level or with sharp edges. I didn’t know how good it get! Vegan Gluten Free Cinnamon Rolls

I did not ever think vegan gluten free cinnamon rolls could be a thing. Definitely not something that actually tasted like a cinnamon roll. Here we are though. After a banging plate of cinnamon rolls, I can confirm that vegan gluten free cinnamon rolls are somethin’ rather special! You can subscribe to my YouTube channel right here! If you watch my video, you’ll see that I am not keen on day old cinnamon rolls. These are most definitely best served warm right after they’ve been baked. If you are eating them on day two or three, give them 30 secs+ in the microwave to warm them through and make everything gooey again. It makes the world of difference! Vegan Gluten Free Pancakes Pancake Day is one of my fave days of the year! It always has been and I’ve always been a greedy guts with pancakes. For as long as I can remember I would enjoy Pancake Day by demolishing 7 or 8 pancakes, after dinner. Of course, I wasn’t eating vegan gluten free pancakes so I always felt so sick afterwards but it never put me off! Wowee! THE trend of 2018 hit us in January!! Strong start to the year for us cakers with the Biscuit Meringue Cake! If you’re on Instagram, you can’t have missed these cakes popping up here, there and everywhere, and they are beautiful. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to call these “cakes” because they don’t seem to have an official name as of yet so, creative as ever, I settled with Biscuit Meringue Cake. Bit of a bold title isn’t it… I have been battling for months to develop a bomb-ass vegan and gluten-free pancake recipe and I was sooooo happy when we (Chaz and I) tried this batch. I was even happier when I remade it and the pancakes were just as awesome… AGAIN. I love nothing more than a consistently awesome recipe that I can come to time and time again and this is legit the best vegan pancake recipe ever! On my journey to this recipe I made a lot of soggy pancakes, a lot of runny pancakes, a lot of floury pancakes, and a lot of burnt-on-the-outside-raw-in-the-middle pancakes. Best Vegan Birthday Cake Ever

When I found out, a year ago, that I was intolerant to gluten, dairy and eggs, among other ingredients, I was devo’d! Legit guys, I cried. The thought that drove me to actual tears was “Oh my god, I can’t eat cake”. I allowed myself 10-20 minutes of self-pity then I Googled ‘free-from cake recipes’ and started baking. My first successful vegan bake was a batch of chocolate brownies and I DEVOURED them! As soon as I knew I could still satisfy my sweet tooth, I dropped the self-pity and enjoyed the process of making delicious bakes without the nasties I couldn’t have. Just a tad behind on the mirror glaze cake trend but I was scared! I was intimidated by mirror glaze until I saw Curtis from Acorn Bakes do a mirror glaze tutorial. He simplified it right down and made it look SO easy so I thought I’d get some gelatine and condensed milk and give it a go! NOTE- I do not swear in this video. During the Instagram shoutouts I say “she’s done the frickin’ American flag inside the cake” and some people have thought I’ve dropped the ‘f’ word in there, which I would never do! How To Make Velvet Spray Heart Cakes

Last week, I was lucky enough to be sent some equipment to try from Silikomart. One item was a silicone heart shaped cake pan and the other was velvet spray, usually used to decorate desserts such as mousse. I have never used velvet spray before so thought I’d combine the two items into one video and see how the spray worked on cake. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel right here! Silikomart Silicone Bakeware I have to address this silicone cake pan first off. I used a basic sponge mix, you can see the recipe here, and I greased each mould with cake release. I haven’t had good results with silicone bakeware in the past and, as such, I’ve tended to steer clear of it but this Silikomart mould has completely restored my faith! When one of my brides asked for edible hessian and lace flowers on her wedding cake, I knew EXACTLY what I’d be reaching for. Cake Lace! The Cake Lace Florence and Hessian mats are the perfect mats for this style of edible flower! You can subscribe to my YouTube channel right here!   Cake Lace Flowers To make my Cake Lace flowers, I used the ready-mixed Pearlised White Cake Lace and coloured some blue using Sugarflair Baby Blue, and some a browny-gold using Sugarflair Autumn Leaf and Sugarflair Honey Gold. I used the Cake Lace spreader to spread my Cake Lace across my mats, making sure the pattern was completely filled. Cake Lace has to be dried out so this can either be done by leaving the Cake Lace out at room temperature overnight, or by putting it in an oven at 70-80C for 8-10 minutes. 8-10 mins wasn’t long enough for my Cake Lace to set so I […]
